INFLATION 💵

Image
What does inflation in economics mean? Inflation is the rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising and, consequently, the purchasing power of the currency is falling. When you dive deep into this problem you will face terminologies like GDP (Gross Domestic Product), CPI (Consumer Price Index) etc. Forget the jargons, let's get practical. If you have a closer look at the problem, according to Economics, what is the primary cause of increase in the price of products? 2 things, Demand-Pull and Cost-Push. Demand-Pull occurs when the aggregated demand for goods and services rises more rapidly than an economy's productive capacity. A typical example will be the produce, most agricultural produce has a seasonal yield and during the off-season of the produce it's price will be risen because of the scarcity of its availability. Cost-Push , on the other hand, occurs when prices of production process inputs increase. Consider you're a tomato s...

MONEY 💰 & TIME ⏱

Image
Money is a tool that helps you to survive in this world meeting our needs, accumulating stuffs and even accumulating money to get bigger stuffs in future. There are 4 methods to produce money and get a constant cash flow:  being an employee , self-employed person , business owner and investor .  Each method uses different ingredients to get the end product, which is money! Each method is not suited for everyone and majority of the population prefers the easier and safer route.  95% of the overall population prefers either being an Employee or Self-employed . This is the easy route as well as less yielding, maybe 5-10% of the total money generated is from this route. The easier route usually converts TIME (most valuable asset everyone possesses) to MONEY , you get paid for the hours of work done or you spend a regular 8 hours of your time 5 days a week to get paid back with money.  The tougher route demands a lot of homework, pre-work and preparation. On...

MEMORIES 📦 🎟 📺 🗝 📽 🎙

Image
We all have those cardboard boxes  📦  in our attic, under our bed, may be at the bottom of the closet.  Boxes stuffed with stuffs,  your 10 year old self’s birthday gift, an old dress that never fits, old photos we never usually look back often, movies/travel tickets of your past favorite experiences. How often do we check those boxes? probably close to never. We collect these stuffs as a reminder of our special moments, as memories of our glorious days. Memories are part us and doesn't stay in those things! Probably the stuffs trigger our memory of the moment, but its creates a lot of clutter to your current life. This boils down to a materialistic life, where you find joy and memory in things and not in people/emotions. I don't need a baby food feeder to trigger memories of my mom's love, a warm from my mom can do that! Life is full of sentiments and emotions. We live for the people we love and we all have our living, walking, memories of love in f...

CONSUMPTION VS CONSUMERISM 🔺🔻

Consumption is the action of using up a resource. Food, water, a roof on top of your head, the oxygen available in scare all around us among the abundant carbon-dioxide pollution are the basic needs that we consume for our existence.  We basically don’t consume a lot and also can’t. On the other hand, Consumerism is a behavior/ideology that encourages acquisition of goods and services with an increase in cash flow and growth in socioeconomic status. When we start categorizing our requirements they broadly fall into 3, needs , wants and likes . Anything that falls under your basic needs are the things that we consume on a day-to-day basis. Consumerism determines what things fall on your wants and likes list. That’s actually true, you heard it right! We don’t fully determine our wants and likes. They are primarily influenced by our environment. Consider a colleague/friend gets a brand new smartphone and he flaunts its features to everyone around. That instance triggers a stimuli o...

PRIORITY #️⃣1️⃣

The word “priority” means “the fact or condition of being regarded or treated as more important than others” (Google definition). Priority is a term coined to surface the importance of a thing or activity, it is never a list! We regularly use the term “list of priorities,” this actually makes everything important and making everything important doesn’t allow us to focus 100% on one activity and accomplish it. This in turn defeats the purpose of the list and you need to create a priority of the priorities to focus on.  I’m not against creating a todo list. It is always good to have a list of activities you wanna do before your 20s, before your 30s, and so on. However, we need to prioritise and focus on one activity at a time (make that one thing as PRIORITY )  to give your 100% and successfully check that one off the list.

REBOUND 💪

Seriously its been year! 😖 I totally forgot I had a blog which I was so excited when I first created it. College days are past, got a job, working, earning, spending and spending more, now part of the RAT RACE 😅 !!! Somewhere in the journey had lost my creativity and the urge to develop it.  Came too far from myself hoping to stand back on my foot and speaking up. Life has changed for the better, feel lot successful yet a bit gloomy and confused on what makes me happy. LET'S START AGAIN, HOPE THIS PUTS UP A SMILE ON MY FACE 😃
